W.I.L. Finance Digest
The intention of the WIL Finance Digest pages is to help all investors understand the financial arena and their available options at a deeper level than can be gleaned from what passes for analyis courtesy of the mainstream press and Wall Street. We aim to help people think more clearly in an often disorderly world of investment opportunities and pitfalls where information overload and outright misinformation are the rule. We are also big fans of intelligent and provocative analysis, whether or not we agree with all of the assumptions and conclusions behind it.
The investing worldview that heavily influences our article selections is as follows: (1) The current debt-stimulated asset boom cannot have a happy ending or “soft landing”. (2) We do not know when the day of reckoning will arrive (probably “real soon”, but has been our guess longer than we care to confess). (3) Thus, the challenge is to find intelligent and productive courses of action that will not leave us too exposed to a trend reversal and – perhaps more importantly – have the potential to generate substantial profits when that shift happens. A less-than-subtle hint of “gloom and doom” imbues this orientation, but preparation given by gloom now can mean avoiding gloom later. And by “preparation” we emphatically mean having some or all of your liquid assets offshore (more on this here).
If you have a suggestion for a link to include in the W.I.L. Finance Digest, or have comments you wish to share, we invite you to communicate with us here.
The “Selected Offshore News” page for each month is primarily comprised of items from the Offshore News Digest – a complementary service to this Finance Digest.
