WIL’s Tech-News HighlightsWealth International Limited’s principal business is offshore financial services. The links to the left point to pages detailing aspects of that business. A weekly newsletter containing weekly selected highlights from the latest additions to our Offshore News Digest pages, and occasional additional emailings, is available using the sign-up form to the left. Technology per se is ancillary to our main business, but due to its importance we track the industry closely. These pages are a distillation of the technology news that we encounter. Items chosen concern hardware, operating systems (with a Windows-alternative slant), applications (with an open-source code slant), programming, privacy and security, and miscellaneous other subjects. Starting in 2005 hardware news items were placed on a separate page. We appreciate elegant design, quality, innovation, open sources and standards, silence (lacking that, low noise), economical resource use, low price/value ratios, and strong business ethics. We strive to avoid products and companies producing or demonstrating the opposite. We have little current interest in gaming, overclocking, high-end multimedia stuff, or fancy portable devices (PDAs, phones, et al).
